It's a new year, the year of the apocalypse according to some, and our record store chef Tommy Vandal has refreshed the distro menu for you music gourméts. We now have some brand new albums from Jimbo Jones, Elephantine and Norsk Råkk, as well as a bunch of second hand records you might not be able to find anywhere else. Hurry up and order before the world ends and we have to make music with sticks and stones again.

Even though Loose Limbs as a record label is not as active as it used to be, we are still producing stuff, and we still want to promote other fellow northern-norwegians' work. SUMMER IS TOO SHORT!

We've been lazy lately, as one should be in the summer, but we're getting back on track. Tommy Vandal has done some promo work in USA, Eirik Vandal are still somewhere in Europe and Eirik Abri has been holding the ropes back home.

There are solid plans to release a 7" split vinyl with LLR-artist The Revolt and the swedish The Pookie Syndrome.
Both bands are releasing albums in near future and have been talking about touring together through (at least) Norway, Sweden and Finland in 2009.

This years Night Of The Living Bands are currently "on hold" and the future of this one-day festival is uncertain as we would like to expand. The NOTLD moniker would clearly not be the right name for a 3-day festival so we're going to have meetings with beer.

We're also involved in a film project, but more on this later.

ROKHSAT "HAMKARI" MUSIC VIDEO

Loose Limbs TV proudly presents the fresh video from Rokhsat and Eirik Abri's collaboration song "Hamkari". It was made in true DIY-spirit in The Revolting Room (Loose Limbs studio) where the track also was produced and recorded. Watch it at Loose Limbs TV.
Rokhsat will continue working with Abri and an album is set for release in 2009.

HR VANDAL LIVE IN BODØ

Loose Limbs artist Hr. Vandal (aka Eirik Vandal) will be performing at the annual Nødutgang Festival in Bodø on the 12th of June. The festival is one of Norways leading promoters of avantgarde music, and you can hear Hr. Vandals dark soundscapes at the mainstage (Gimle).

Loose Limbs Records takes one giant step into the world of hiphop and presents Rokhsat, an iranian rapper currently living in Norway. A collaboration with our very own Eirik Abri, aka ABRIcations, on the track "Bachehaye Jang" has resulted in plans for the two to make more music together, and Loose Limbs is the official label. Lead maestro Eirik Abri (also one of the LL staff) has decided to focus on the punkrock, as guitarist in The Revolt and guitarist/singer in his own solo project. RADIO HIT BY THE REVOLT

The Revolt song "We Are Drowning" has been played several times over the last couple of weeks on one of Norways biggest radio stations (P3) and we're all amazed. Wednesday the 6. of February we're kicking off a new "concept" at the only credible rockjoint in our hometown Harstad; DET SORTE FÅR. It's called LOOSE LIMBS LIVE AT MIDNIGHT and the title speaks for itself.
We're going to get all the good bands touring Norway to stop by and play for us, charging as little as possible in the door and it's all going to start at midnight. And by midnight we mean, if you're in the door 5 past, you missed the first song.

R.I.P. DESPERADO

Our friends and colleagues in the amazing hardcore band DESPERADO has decided to called it the day. The Trondheim-based band has toured extensively in the last couple of years, released two albums and a couple of EPs, and done it all in true DIY-fashion. They've become one of Norways biggest and most celebrated hardcore acts, despite not ever having a record deal.

TOMMY VANDAL AWARDED

Our dear Tommy Vandal was awarded last Friday with the "Masters by Mario", a 3000 $ price for his work in the local scene. He's been booking bands from all over the world to our relatively small town, he's started the local union "Harstad City Rockers" (which now counts almost 200 members), and he has been a front figure for our towns music scene in the media and to the politicians. He's given up most of his free time to wake the local scene from deep sleep and now he's got a diploma to hang on his wall and a pocket full of cash.

WORKING ON NEW ALBUM

The Revolt has just begun writing/recording what will be a full-length album set for release early next year. Trying not to make the debut all over again, the band is experimenting with rythms, song structures and lots of new equipment.
The release will be promoted by a european and a scandinavian tour in April 2008. Hopefully the album will be out a month in advance.

ANOTHER NINJA IN THE WORKS

Loose Limbs Records are currently getting involved in another ninja-related release. THE LAST NINJA, a retro-inspired electro one-man-band from Bodø, are fishing for collaborators and we love the music so we'll most probably take part in the release of his next record. The compilation cd "Ninja Kicks" isn't coming around as soon as we wanted, mostly due to the long process of collecting the recordings, but it's happening. Soon we'll set a deadline for musicians wanting to get involved, so if you are one; contact us now!

THE REVOLT MINI ALBUM OUT NOW

The Revolt have been doing their thing since 2001, playing hundreds of concerts all over Norway, Sweden and Finland. After a homemade demo cd release in 2003 entitled "All Wrongs Rehearsed" and a DIY single in 2005, the time has finally come for a "major" release.

It's a seven track case study of aggression blended with intricate melody and noise, from the first right-in-your-face attitude of "We Are Drowning" to the progpop-esque "Hollow" at the end.
